Placement of a part on a planar face.

The placement is performed orthogonal on the touched point of the planar face. All required placement constraints are automatically created.

The On surface method method is suitable for screws, for example.

Initial situation:

By clicking on you can change the placement action cancel.

  1. Click on the To area [On surface] button.

    Example: Determine insertion point on surface

  2. Select a point on an area [Select point on surface].

    CAD-specific dialogs may also be displayed, making the placement dialog inactive.

  3. Click on Place once or Place multiple times [Place multiple] .

    -> The bolt is placed.

  4. Optionally make further placements or close placement dialog

    Open: The part is opened in a separate CAD window.
    Place multiple times [Place multiple] (and leave dialog open)
    Place once (and close dialog)
    Close dialog (without placement)
